Yes sir, it very well could be a cut carry handle. The shape on the front, doesn't like an LMT, though.
Is the LMT that costs $70.00 more than a UTG buis worth it? They look pretty much the same to me, but i've not held or used either. http://store.a51tactical.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_67_79_83&products_id=943 |

The DPMS uses more rail space, but has the 2nd attachment nut.
The UTG is a bit 'soft', but works if you're just looking for a plinking sight. I've used them in the past they work, but if I wanted to be able to depend on the rifle I'd spend the extra $$ for the LMT. |
| I have also used a UTG and agree with the 'soft' statement. Just put some blue loctite on the mounting knob and tighten it down with a big screwdriver and it will be GTG. It stayed put for over 400 rounds on my rifle when I had it mounted and held zero no problems. |

I've not seen a DPMS fixed buis. It looks good, but like Forest said, it would take up more rail space.
Appreciate the comments about the UTG. I figured there had to be a difference, on account of the price between it and the LMT. A good carry handle that's been turned into a buis, would probably be as good as the LMT. |

I've seen that one by LaRue, but it doesn't adjust for elevation, does it? I'm thinking about just doing a chop on my Colt handle, or bite the bullet with an LMT. No, the LaRue doesn't adjust for elevation. In the event that you suddenly need to use your BUIS (Back Up Iron Sights) I doubt you will taking the time to make an elevation adjustment anyway. |

Hmmm... wonder why?? At least you've still got a good carry handle out of the deal. Sorry Nichol... i hit the wrong quote. It was ment for Ghostrings picture. |

I just threw that DPMS up there because it was similar to what the OP was asking about. LT-103 gets my vote for a fixed BUIS http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/catalog/P1291846small.JPG ^THIS^ |

fixed BUIS . . . Quoted:
I've seen that one by LaRue, but it doesn't adjust for elevation, does it? Not to belabor the obvious, but that's probably why it's called "fixed". As far as I'm concerned, that one really isn't fixed since it uses the standard type flip rear aperture. FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda. Thanks edlmann, for the "hot linky" to the pic i was tryin to show. I couldn't bring it on here up doing the usual copy & paste deal.
I like the elevation wheel. It lets me go from the small peep for longer distance shooting, to 0-2 ghost ring with 4 clicks up in elevation, (depending on the ammo i'm using at the time) for the same POI. My wondering for what i'd like best is over. I've just bought a used LMT fixed buis off the EE. Thanks for the help, fellas. |
