[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Which upper to keep? Help!

Keeping one, selling one. Which would you keep and why?

First is an Armalite flat top, no markings on barell.

Second is this 1-9 twist DPMS. I notice it is much thicker all the way through.

Armalight for sure. Lighter barrel profile. More velocity due to the longer barrel. M4 barrel cuts are cool looking. Birdcage flash hiders work while those long 5.5" flash hider don't. The Armalight has a threaded barrel which is nice if you want to get a suppressor. And it also makes changing things easier, like say if you wanted to add a free floating handguard or get a different gas block. Really to me those 11.5" barrels with a perm 5.5" flash hider are just silly. Get a SBR if you want a 11.5" barrel.

This if at all possible. If not, sell the DPMS, keep the Armalite. I like the longer barrel, never saw much use for the 11.5 barrel with the welded flashider myself.

Don't sell the other lower.

2 is 1 and 1 is none.

You need to have a reliable backup.

But not because it's DPMS, because of the pointless long flash hider.
