I'm looking for a complete upper with the following features:
-14.5'' M4 barrel -flattop A4 upper -Permanently-attached flash suppressor to bring to 16''+ barrel length -flip-up front sight with bayonet lug -pre-installed free-float railed foreend Yes, I realize nobody has these in stock right now –– waitlist is OK. But so far, the only place I've found who even builds things like this to order is CMMG, and I've heard mixed reviews on their quality. Does anyone know who else can put one of these together? And before anyone asks, I don't have the proper punches/vices/etc. to build one myself, nor do I have room in my small apartment to keep that kind of stuff laying around. Any info appreciated –– thanks! |

Sounds like you know exactly what you want...
Buy all the parts, find a local smith. Seriously, if you lived near me I let you come over and spend the 15-20 min it would take to throw it together. Any local smith will be willing to charge you for it. ETA: It may be faster to buy the parts separately as well. Also, I wouldn't be able to pin the flash hider in that 15-20 min span. That would take another 15-20 min. |

This is pretty close to your specs. Swap out the rail for the ff variety and get someone to permanently attach a fh.

Hmm... this might be possible –– I'll try looking around for a gunsmith who can pin flash suppressors, but given that I live in San Francisco, that may prove difficult. Talk to J&T, I really liked the kits I got from them. I don't see any 14.5'' barreled uppers or kits available on their site. I guess I could buy the barrel from them and find a gunsmith. Quoted:
if you have a line on a CMMG upper that you like i would go for it in a heart beat. I consider CMMG to be a top tier maker. great quality and great customer service I read earlier on this forum that CMMG's barrel threads are often not aligned with the axis of the barrel. I guess if I'm not mounting a suppressor, it's not a big deal? Quoted:
