Anyone know anything about PWA brand Ar's? looks like they are now LMT but just wanted to verify.

I'm not sure there ever was such a thing as a PWA upper. Back when PWA (nice lowers, first-class) were available, they were just bare lowers only.
Everyone who wanted an AR just like the ones Colt refused to make simply acquired a box 'o parts and a PWA lower. This would have been mid-to-late 1980s. Then they just stopped being available. They never were assembled rifles. |

This guy has a list that shows which forge markings mean what. My upper has a "C K" on it (on the right side, just below the rear sight) so it was made for Colt by Kaiser Aluminum. http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/FORGE-MARKS-Upper-Receiver-t52833.html |

Mine has the keyhole so Cerro Forge? Yes that tells you the forgery it came from but not who did the machining. If the upper is newer or A3 there is a good chance that it is made by CMT. That doesn't mean the barrel and BCG are the same though. There's a good chance it's a mix of parts. As stated before PWA did not make uppers, just lowers. They did have an affiliation with LMT. |
