what is it about a Noveske that makes them so desirable? Are they that much
better than say a Colt or LMT. I have been wondering this for some time ..need
some answers.

I have never handled one of there complete rifles but I do use Noveske's barrels and they are very accurate.

I have a couple of N4's - for me, it's all about the barrel.  There are not many CMV, chrome lined barrels I would put in the same league as the N4 for durability and accuracy.  They are hammer forged and made of the proper alloy.  There are several other excellent barrels out there (Sabre is a great one, IMO, as are LWRC barrels), but no other N4.  Another reason is I love the profile of the barrel - the same weight as an M4 barrel but thicker in the right places without being overly heavy and with notches like the M4A1 SOCOM.  Finally, I like the ability to have them built on the VIS platform, which I very much like as well.

IMO, the N4 is in a league of its own with few other peers I would consider "almost" as good and one peer I would consider darn near equivalent.

Colt, Sabre < Noveske
LWRC = Noveske, just some different technology.
LMT (for ME) is a step below these other 4, but not much of a step.

This is all my OPINION based on experience with all of the above and some indisputable techincal facts (such as hammer forged barrels being superior to those that are not in almost all cases).  Others will disagree, and some will agree.

FWIW.

I would agree for the most part, I don't have any experience with LWRC though. Noveske is all about the barrel. That is what separates it from others, otherwise there wouldn't be much difference

between the above brands. In my personal opinion a Colt with a Noveske barrel would be the perfect combination. I would also switch the Sabre and LMT statement above but once again that's just my opinion.

The N4 barrel is made to the same TDP as the M249 SAW barrel.  Some SAW's have been known to shoot 40,000 rounds of full auto fire before needing replacing.  It's the best barrel on the market, bar none.

I would put them at the top of what you can get when talking AR's. I would say that Colt and LMT are about there with them overall, excluding the barrel. No one can touch Noveske in this area like already stated. I really don't think anyone puts out a better overall rifle. Some say that all AR's are the same and that is complete nonsense. Get one of these rifles and you will know.

I'm building my wife her Valentine's Day present today.  A Noveske basic 14.5" upper with a DD Omega rail and pinned Vortex (thanks Rainier), a Noveske lower that I bought before the panic, a CMT/Stag LPK and a LaRue UDE furniture kit.

What do you guys think??  Will I earn a reward tonight???

Noveske barrels are probably the best you can get, however there is nothing really extraordinary about the rest of the parts which are mostly made by CMT/STAG.

The Noveske barrels are good. I had a complete N4 as well as a VIS Recon model. Other than that, the parts are mostly CMT, with the exception of the Vltor stocks and the Vltor upper on the VIS models. Personally, my LMT MRP is as accurate and I like the fit and finish better on the complete LMT. Are the Noveskes good rifles? Yes. Aare they worth the insane prices people are getting for them? No.

I finally brought home my Noveske lower , but a finding a Noveske upper (at a decent price) is gonna be a PITA.

Also Noveske lowers are made by LAR....nothing special except the roll mark.

Noveske is all about their N4 barrels.  Everything else can be found elsewhere.

I agree its about their barrels, I have a 18" spr barrel on a stag upper and it will shoot sub 1 inch groups at 200 yards with prvi part ammo. I did get to see one of their N4 uppers and it was by far better quality than any colt I have seen, and I just unpacked 20+ brand new ones.

There are two reasonably priced Noveske uppers on Gunbroker right now.

Dude..........thats my EXACT rifle!  For a chick, should I be insulted?

The amount of detail and work that goes into a Noveske can't be beaten for the price. You can get a colt for 1400.00 or a noveske for 1800.00 to me the Noveske is a better value. Better barrel, stock, quad rail, troy sights, grip you cannot take a Colt and have all of the features of  a Noveske for anywhere close to their price.

Well......she loved it.....alot!!  I must say I married well above my station in life.  Here's a pic of her present:

ETA: CA legal with BB and blocked 10 round mag.  I'm still not sure what this will end up with for an optic.  She doesn't like the CompM4 that I have on my 6920 and she's ambivalent about the T1 on my LMT.  I'm pushing her towards an ACOG or an EOtech, we'll have to wait and see what she ends up with.

Candy is dandy, but Noveske...FTW!!!!!

Very nice. I'm jealous. That said I have a rule. Never give your wife/GF fog lights (a euphemism for stuff you think is cool) for (fill in the hallmark holiday).

I have three of the above rifles. Noveske N4 Recce Low Pro, an LMT 14.5" M4orgery, and a LWRC M6A2.  Of the three the Noveske has the best fit and finish. It is the most accurate and is the only rifle that has not had a fail to feed. Both FTF's were just a one time incident and have not happened again, growing pains from new rifles IMO. I will say that my LMT upper is on its way back from LMT for being out of adjustment.  I would have to have the BUIS almost all the way to the left. I sent it back to them and they fixed it, their Tech contacted me and said that it now only takes TWO clicks to the left to zero. It took just under two weeks to get it squared away. Not too shabby in these crazy times. Now that being said all three rifles are good to go, you can not go wrong with any one of those brands. I guess it just depends on what kind of shooting you are going to be doing.
