I have four hammers. They are marked as follows one has a B on it,one has a P, one has a circle with a C in it,one has a 9 or a 6 and one has a circle with a C in it and a 9 or 6 beside it. I guess the one with the circle C is a Colt. Does anyone know who made them and which one might be best?

Thanks

There is no  "best"..
Was it me, I'd use one of the "C: marked pieces, simply because it's a Colt, but the others are equally well made. Why would you think otherwise?

Its all about the hammer pin hole diameters. Colt hammers may or may not be drilled for standard hammer pins.

I broke a couple of M1A hammers over the years and figured some AR hammers might be better than others. The AR hammers do look more robust than M1A hammers.

Didn't think about that, since the only Colt pieces I have are either preban or milasurp.

Won't touch anything Colt makes these days. They're too damned politically correct for me.
