I am going to buy one of the LaRue tactical stealth uppers and want to purchase a Harris bipod for it. I'm leaning towards the S-BRM since it can swivel. I am not to clear on the mounting hardware necessary to secure it to the LaRue upper. Not too sure of the difference between the S-BR though either.
$87.99 @ RifleGear.com http://www.riflegear.com/p-79-harris-bipod-model-s-brm-6-9-swivel-mount-with-leg-notches.aspx $169.95 @ LaRue with a mounting adapter http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=263 Is the LaRue tweaked out more than the stock one at Riflegear? They mention on the LaRue site removing some default Harris crap to amke it .25" lower and their disconnect is a leve, etc. I'd like quick disconnect ability. Is the mount that LaRue sells just better than the ones that Riflegear might sell? If I bought from Riflegear, what mount is the best way to go? I don't want to buy crap, I want the best setup for the upper. |
| i have a YHM bipod mount on my stealth upper. it works well and was inexpensive. yhm |
| I have the Harris bipod from Larue... Of course the Larue mount speaks for itself as they are among the best out there. Another huge benefit of the Larue combo is the oversize swivel adjustment knob. This knob is crucial if you want to tighten up the swivel mechanism. The standard Harris swivel adjustment knob is sub-par. You can buy the pod-lock accesory to solve this issue, but why not get it from Larue where you wont have to worry about it. Since you said you wanted a QD capability..... get the Larue and dont look back!!! |
