So, baring any mishap such as a kaboom, or catastrophic ammo failure, about how long will an AR last?
I guess mostly it's an accuracy issue, "barrel shot out" for a semi auto, what's the service life? |

It's my understanding that a chrome lined barrel should be able to shoot for 40,000 rounds before it needs replacing. As far as the lower receiver internals, I have no idea... that mean at the rate i shoot a barrel will last me 32 years give or take a few... nice to know |

Given proper care/maint...and depending on frequency of shooting.... A lifetime. Maj X2 OP Read this thread http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=377856 |
| My RR was made in 84, you couldn't tell it though. If its been taken care of, a lifetime. Sure, there are small parts that will need to be replaced, and the barrel is a part that will need to be replaced as well. But you should be good to go for a very long time. |
| along with my primary AR,I have a spare upper , 2 spare BCG , 2 AR repair kits from bushmaster (springs, detends firing pins ect) 2 LPK's and a spare lower , spare stock, buffer ,spring. I think im good for 20 years except for ammo. very hard to resist building another rifle from spare parts lol |
