Friend of mine called me this morning and told me he saw a couple at a pawn shop for sale for $75. each.  I thought these were FN and basically unobtanium what say the experts?

MPF is (per my reference) the designator for an FN manufactured bolt.  Have no idea how/if  these would/could get into the civilian market.  May be a non-issue but sounds a little odd.

Hows that going to help answer my question?

They are out there. I have bought several MPF bolts, even 1 NIW.

The only stipulation is that FN cannot sell directly to the public but that doesn't mean there are not legit FN parts on the market that dealers obtained from surplus.

I'm guessing $75. in todays market wouldn't be to bad.
He said they looked new/never used to him.

Must be something like that.  Unless there's been a design change, wonder why parts still "current" would be declared surplus.  Tax dollars at work, I guess.

Because if it was a military town then they'd be more than likely to be 'liberated" from the military and the real thing.

I was not aware that the military surplused any weapons parts. I was under the impression that they had to be demilled (rendered unusable) and sold as scrap.
