Anyone here attempting to purchase Colt or Rock River Arms AR rifles? Delays? mine are 4-6 months!! this is the first we have heard of difficulty buying ar15's, parts, magazines, and ammo. personally, i'm shocked. ps: i think you should change the title of this thread from "Lack of AR Availability" to "Lack of foresight" or perhaps "Lack of using the search function". ar-jedi |

Gunbroker, hell check the EE. There is a 6920 on there right now. Sir James... I did a quick search (EE) and didn't come up with much, so what is EE? It is the Equipment Exchange here on AR15.com. There is a link on every page. http://www.ar15.com/forums/board.html?b=7
Just kidding, Welcome aboard. FB |

Cool something new to spend time on. don't forget, everything you are looking at in that forum will have to pass through an FFL on it's way to you, unless you can arrange with a private seller to do a FTF (face to face) transfer in your state. so don't expect the UPS guy to bring you a lower receiver or complete firearm that you ordered via a vendor in the EE. it doesn't work like that. ar-jedi |

ar-jedi -
No need to be mean or a wise ass. I am a licensed dealer. I won't pay $2200 for a colt or $1400 for a RRA on some ridiculous GunBroker site, at al. Colts cost me $1,100 and RRAs $890 - THAT is what I am concerned about. Not silly FTF transactions - what is going into the marketplace. Colt, Bushmaster and RRA are having extreem difficulty in meeting production quotas. You can do FTF all day long - I have a business to run. I am concerned these clone mfgrs. will go under. |
| I was pondering that same question. When unable to actually get product out the door due probably to lack of components how do these companies keep the revenue stream going? If they ship out truckloads daily thats one thing but that does not appear to be the case. |

If they ship out truckloads daily thats one thing but that does not appear to be the case. I think all the companies are holding back on increasing production because if there is some kind of ban again they would be left holding lots of parts that they would be unable to sell. This would account for the low availability of parts and rifles throughout the industry. They all say they are working hard to increase supplies but who knows/ |

They all say they are working hard to increase supplies but who knows/ Laws canot be made ex post facto, in other words, you cannot be arrested for breaking a law the day before it becomes a law, after the law passes. Anything that is made *prior* to passage of a ban, would legally be pre-ban, and most likely be saleable. Last ban, people were churning out as many uppers as possible, because each was legally a "firearm", and could thus be assembled by the company, and sold complete as "pre-ban", at their liesure. |
