I just bought a DPMS complete lower with factory 6 position collapsible stock.

I also just purchased a bushmaster flattop receiver with a 20 inch barrel.

Is the lower I have a Carbine lower? if so how do I tell, and does it matter?

Is it Ok to have the 20 inch upper on a Carbine lower, or do I need to change anything??

A lower is a lower.

An upper is an upper.

"Carbine" is just a word that means "short rifle."

Yes, you can have a 20" upper on a lower with an adjustable stock if you want.  Might be kind of weird, but it won't affect function.

EDIT: One issue you might have though is whether the size of the front takedown pin on the lower and the takedown pin hole on the upper are compatible.  Sometimes you need an adapter.

Thank you,
I am new to black rifles and I am just trying to get my bearings.

Hold on a minute though...

There IS an issue with swapping buttstocks from a telestock to a conventional fixed stock.  It has to do with the buffer weight.

Don't mess around with that until someone with a better memory than me comes along here.

You need a carbine buffer for a collapsible stock and a full size buffer for an A2 stock

The carbine buffer is shorter
