[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Mega Machine Company? (Page 1 of 2)

I ran a search on the company here and came up with nil. Anybody know anything about them? I found some stripped lowers from them dirt cheap, but want to know if they are decent or cheap for a reason. They describe the lowers as:
Mil-Spec, forged, CNC machine - milled from a 7076-T6 aluminum billet. Thanks in advance. |

MEGA's top of the line, IMO.
Mega is an aerospace parts company that makes runs of uppers and lowers from time to time. The rumor I've heard is that company bigwigs like ARs so, they decided to make some in-house. You'd be hard pressed to find uppers and lowers with finer fit and finish.

JC Weaponry sells them at $135/ea and Ballistic Sounds charges $145. Those are about the best prices I've seen recently. Unfortunately, neither of them have them in stock, last I checked. JC said they might have some toward the end of Feb. and Ballistic is unknown when theirs will come in. I'm on the waiting list at Ballistic for 4 of them at $110/ea before prices started climbing. So if there's a place with them in stock, yeah, I'd be interested in hearing who.

You don't know this crowd very well do you?
Man, you left far too many clues in your post...edit now.  I won't disclose the source because you NEED to experience the quality of MMS products and you were resourceful enough to find them. Just share when your done and you had better be on the horn early. 
Don't bother IM'ing me until after noon CST tomorrow because I'm not givin' it up. IMO, you'd be kind of an ass to post the source and screw the newb out of his prob. one and only AR. I mean he's building one, so he can't be all bad. 
ETA: Believe I found a home number too if you want to try your luck waking someone up to reserve one in the middle of the night. LOL!!!

Ironically because of the transfer fees I'm going to end up paying more than what BBar did.

(Please note: I have Megas and love them. I have Mega uppers and love them as well.)
While Megas are pretty awesome. There are some things to note: Timney triggers will not fit in some. Pmags will not fit in some. In terms of their uppers, they are not 100% milspec. They definitely don't fit on my Colt M16A1. That being said, the Mega upper to Mega lower fit is second to none. |

Said he was picking up another batch and would start shipping after the 1st. I figured I'd give him a couple of weeks to get everything out, and time to get to my door. Tempted by the Adtek, but think I'll wait for more Mega rolled units.  Got two with plans for two more builds. I'll 2nd the vote against the "Gator" marque, but thats a small detail AFAIC. The roll mark is more important to me. No, it wont make it shoot/function any better than a Colt, etc..., but I like the atomic aspect. The Adtek looks too plain. Again, all cosmetics, and if I were building it with the intention of re-selling ( I'm not and don't ), then I wouldnt care what it said or showed on the darned thing. To each his own. I'm sure though these will all sell in this whacked buying craze going on now. Not to mention that being made by Mega, their a top-notch piece in their own right.

For the people who have questions about the JCWeaponry Mega Lowers:
Jason just spent all this week and last week shipping out a new batch of Mega uppers and lowers. So if you were in the 1st batch, might want to check with your FFL shortly. Jason already has another 2 batches with Mega in the works. I believe a large part of the next batch is already sold. But he stated he would be opening it back up for the final pre-payments and reserves as soon as he was done shipping out this current batch. I know I will be picking mine up in a few days. Got the NON-Logo one. Very clean look, and as far as I know JC is the only place to get the NON-Logo Megas. Edit: Here is a thread on Sigforum, Jason updates here frequently.
