Was looking to build a new AR on a budget––but I also don't want a piece of junk. Does anyone have experience with www.model1sales.com?

They mainly sell uppers and furniture, but I have an RRA lower I can use for the rest.  Price is right, not sure about quality.

Any insight appreciated.

thanks,
jason

they're good. just make sure the carrier key is staked on properly. the LPK isn't the best, but they're not trash either. i would buy another kit in a heartbeat (if i had the money!)

I have an ER Shaw 20" upper I purchased a couple of years ago from M1S. It was GTG and I have no complaints.

They are backed up like everyone else right now. Don't expect a short 6 week wait.

I have bought uppers from them three different times and have had no problems at all.

+1  I wouldn't say top tier but they get the job done.  I've purchased several parts from them with only very minor issues on a couple.

M1S was set up at a local gun show last weekend. While they were nearly swamped I managed to purchase a basic carbine kit, my second. When I started to assemble the lower they had left out the trigger spring, they quickly and gladly replaced it. By buying at a show I saved shipping, by paying cash they also gave me a break.

If a Mercedes are top tier and Yugos are bottom, M1S fall clearly in the Chevy truck range. Not the fanciest, or the heaviest duty but, will always get you there and in one piece.

The top on is a J&T, lower one is a M1S. <>< Duce

I know they aren't all bad, but the few I have seen did not work.

That about sums it up for me. Plus the cheapest, flimsiest, A-2 stocks I have ever seen.

I saw them there too. Ended up picking up a 16"  chrome lined HBAR from them for $200. Hopefully I'll have that together and functioning by the end of the week.
