Hi all,
I have a Bushmaster Predator w/20'' barrel and am considering putting on a Vltor flash hider. Do these impact accurace, barrel harmonics? Has anyone else done this to thier Bushmaster Predator? Thanks |
| if its put on by a reputable company (coencentric threads) it wont make a difference. Even if its not perfect the difference would prolly be very little and more change in impact than poor accuracy. Now ive never done it so its just an edumacated guess. But i do see spr clones with FH that get very good accuracy reports. |
| I don't know about accuracy but I have heard that flash hiders (not compensators or muzzle brakes, I know the difference) can affect how loud the gun is to a small extent. I guess it could have to do with the shape of the flash hider, the reason a muzzle brake makes the gun louder is because it directs the noise (or air) back towards the shooter rather than just directly in front of the gun so I suppose that some flash hiders could do this to a lesser extent, but I'm not really sure as I've never shot any different flash hiders side by side. |
| There's a guy on the forums who put a Gemtech hider on his precision rig and the accuracy went to hell. Took the hider off and back to sub-MOA. Depends on the hider and what exactly it's design(in regards to gas) does to the bullet on the way out. I've also read that an over-torqued muzzle device can negatively affect (or at least change) accuracy. |
