I guess my internet skills really suck.
I don't seem to be able to find a 5/8-24 thread protector (preferably stainless) for a rifle barrel. Found plenty of "adapters", but not just a plain thread protector. Any leads? |

Try this guy on ebay. He has many different styles available and makes them to your desires. You can't beat the price either at $10 delivered.

They are called FLASH HIDERS or MUZZLE BREAKS! Sir, I am well aware of what a "flash hider" or "muzzle break" is. I specifically stated "thread protector" (basically a female threaded cap that screws onto the barrel end to protect the threads, in lieu of a FH/MB/suppressor). Thank you, Flint. Shoot me a PM when you get a chance, we machine thread protectors all the time. Just need to know how long the threaded portion of the muzzle is and what the diameter of the barrel is. We use some proprietary thread/machining profiles on many of our brakes so if the customer wants a thread protector we can't just use an generic one. We recommend getting one done in stainless or hard brass, they won't rust to the threads if it is humid out. Thanks KJ, As soon as my upper arrives I will get in touch with you. I'd really like to have a stainless TP to match my barrel. Sounds like you guys can provide it. Appreciate your reply. Flint. |
