I paid around $500 a piece for a couple of LMTs I bought a while back. Depends what you want.

Carbine /Rifle

Used for PROTECTION??

I m new to this so dont really know what i need!
Here is what i might want

Flat top
Basic railing (upgrade later)
match my RRA lower
oh shell deflector

What else is there for about 500$?
