I really like the Knights (KAC) Rail Covers, but admittedly, they are the only ones that I have used or have any experience with.

I also have a Tango down verticle grip, and a KAC verticle grip, both work great but the KAC does not move or rock on my rails like the Tango Down, both should be affordable on the Equipment Exchange.

Probably no ACOG with a limit of $600.  Check the Equipment exchange for used Aimpoints, the M2, M3 should be pretty affordable, or an Eotech 512 for around $300-, all should be good to go.

*edit*
check out this link for some choices on rail cover and see what tickles your fancy

10 Pmags 15 random alum. mags. 1000rnds. Currently. I have owned a few other AR's but never really got into the add'ons were always just bare bone rifles.

You can't buy an optic, VFG, Light, light mount and rail covers in quality components for $600.00

Edited to:  I couldn't buy an optic, VFG, light, light mount and rail covers that I would want for $600.00.  YMMV, it's you rifle, if you can I congratulate you

If I were in your shoes and my wife decided how much money I spend, I would spend $200 on magazines and $400 on ammo then buy the other stuff when your wife gives you your allowance again

Aimpoint=$275 EE ad

Light=$180 EE ad

Total=$550 and that is just 5 minutes of looking.

I have the EXACT same bushmaster as you. I bought a Grip Pod Grip (needed a bi pod, works for me and I LOVE IT!), Houge grip, Eotech optic, Omega rail.

I think I am going to go with buis next and then honestly at that point I have no idea what else to toss on my gun!

After that , you shouldnt need anything else

After some looking around and from some helpful IM's i have decided on,
Magpul ladder rail covers x 4 from LaRue - $40
LT-FUG Vert grip from LaRue - $98
Surefire G2 LED and QD mount from LaRue - $142
Magpul enhanced trigger guard from LaRue - $19
Either a Aimpoint comp m2 or a Eotech 512 from the EE - $300

so $599 and i get everything i want... It's a shame it's not quality stuff
*cry self to sleep*
Thank you to those who gave me real input and help with this.

What's not "quality" on your list?  Anything from Larue is top notch.
Personally, I'd get a T1, sell the riser mounts and YHM rail... get a mid-length forend.  Vert grip, some rail covers and a light.

ETA: Something to think about... as configured, your iron sight radius is pretty short.  Shorter than that of a standard carbine.

Mags and ammo are an absolute. For a decent optic that won't break the bank check out the Bushnell Holoscope. Believe they were the forerunner of the Eotech.

Remember everything was on a 50% off sale when you buy it, that way you get 2X the accessories/quality.

To the OP good choices

To Nicholsmf: I don't understand what is not good out of theose EE ads.
Kac grip and rail covers (not my personal choice but never heard anyone complain)
Aimpoint (again, never heard anyone complain)
light ( I wouldnt use that one myself, but still, whats wrong with it?)

Ridewaves,

I have the same gun, with a Omega 7 rail... I am thinking of putting buis on mine... but what exactly are you saying the radius is short?

I'm curious to know what you think the deficiencies are with those parts?  Versus what do you consider to be sufficient?

Do you not like them because they're used?

Because the Aimpoint is a slightly older model?  Because of the ARMS mount?

You might make the argument that the TLR-2 is insufficient I might buy that, but I bought a Surefire M951XM07 a couple months ago for $125 on the EE.

Ignoring the argument for a moment that the military doesn't always get the best gear available, do you imply that as a hobbyist he somehow *needs* something better than the KAC VFG and rail panels which serve every day in theater?

Call them a minimum requirement if you'd like, but unacceptable and inferior?

No, he's not gonna get an ACOG and Surefire for $600 most likely, but there's nothing inherently wrong from where I stand with the quality of the items that were pointed out.

They may not be my preference or yours, but from a basic quality standpoint, they're far from inferior items.

Obviously this is a bit different from your scenario but.... Ironically after selling off stuff (utg rail, 3-9x, vfg, brass etc) from my old setup I got all of the following for my RRA carbine, all brand new for $590 ($928 total):

Troy 10" FF rail (shaved fsb) $240
Burris XTR-14 w/ FastFire $475 (ebay/live.com & SWFA )
DD offset mount for my Burris FastFire $40
ladder covers $33
TNVC upgraded G2 $78
Viking tactics mount $20
tape switch $20
TD vfg $37
