FWIW, Double Star anything isn't exactly know for quality.

Care to add more?  I have a Double Star upper on the way, I'd like to know the basis for lack of quality.

Do  you have actual  experience with Double Star products being poor quality? I have built four rifles on Double Star lowers and they are excellent quality. The Double Star complete rifles I have seen have also have been good quality. Please do let us know if you have had problems with Double Star I would really like to know.

Regards,
T

From working closely with a local gunsmith I have come to understand that they are very good quality.  There are a couple gunsmiths near me who try to work exclusively with Doublestar because of their good quality and good price.  The parts for Doublestar are from J&T Distributing and are well known in Tennessee and Kentucky.  Put a question in the Tennessee, Kentucky, and Industry forum and you will probably get alot better answers than I can give you.  And I want to let you know that I don't have any stake in Doublestar, but the upper I'm getting from them to complete my build.

My double star lower is great quality.  All my mags drop free and all parts fit beautifully.  In fact, it is much better quality than my old DPMS lower or Stag lower I had.  Both of which wouldn't drop free with my Pmags so I sold them.

Double Star is a quality product from a family owned business with great customer service.  I have a Double Star that I built for my wife.  Excellent quality, fit, finish.

I'm part of a Doublestar lower GB on another forum, and we've been quoted about a 3 month wait.

My apologies here.  I thought I remembered hearing something about that being one of the less than desirable mfgs, however it must have been some other brand.  So, I thought I knew what I was talking about, but obviously I didn't.  I should have done a bit of research to make sure before I posted, but again, I didn't.  So, please pay no attention to my ignorant statement.  My fault.  I am wrong.  Foot wedged securely in mouth.

Carry on.

I used several doublestar rifles in builds and I was very happy with their fit and finish. Personally they looked better than the Stag's I just got.

aim called me a little earlier and said they had bsa lowers in stock and because they don't know when the double star lowers will be in, if i wanted, i could change my order and get one of the bsa's for $139. i told them i would wait for my original order. they THINK it is going to be at least 8 weeks.

Wait for double star, you will not be disappointed.  The fit and finish is as nice as my Noveske.

I have 3 DoubleStar lowers, they are fine. I like the logo design too.

Didja know: DoubleStar is ACE? I don't think anyone complains about ACE quality.

And yes, they are way backed up.

+1  I just finished a 20" build with a DSC kit. Shot it for the 1st time today. Works perfect , and fit & finish is great !
