Hi guys I just picked up a pair of night vision goggles and was thinking about using a scope ring to mount to my AR behind my eotech my question is do u think that the recoil or cycling of the weapon will ruin the googles? Also here is a link to the goggles themselves, Thanks.

Why not just wear the goggles?

I dont have the headband javascript:insertText(''); also i found it easier to mount it and just look through one side of the goggles since u can still see everything plus its hard to put ur chin over the stock to look down the sight let alone shoot it.

I have never seen anyone mount pvs 7s on a weapon.  "I" dont think that would be the best use of them.  A pvs 14 can be weapon mounted.  Your best bet is to get an IR laser and wear the goggles.....

It won't be fesiable in how you discribe.  As mentioned the PVS-14 is best for a weapons mounted with red dot (I've done it with ACOG scopes and EOTechs)  With the PVS-7 the best thing to add is an IR laser (Surefire sales a model that that replaces the lens of a 2 cell 123 weapons light)  Second way around your perdicument is wear the PVS-7 either on helment or harness and mount your EOTech forward on a handguard rail.  This way you can bring your rifle up to eye level (wearing NODs) and have sight forward enough to not interfer and cowitness (did this in 2004 with an EOTech 552 on both a M4 and M14 -scout rail)  Best EOTech would be their NV models 551 and 552.  This would work but not the quickest on target but one advantage over the IR laser is that you know which IR dot is yours (can get confusing when 4-7 guys IR lasers are on the same target)

Weapons without the NODs on.

I have a 552 but like I said I dont feel comfortable with having to put my chin over the stock how do u recommend holding the weapon, also my rifle is a S&W M&P15T if that helps.

Get a helmet and the gear you need you can get it all for under $100 on ebay. Or at least you use to be able to.

What you have in the link is a PVS-7 style NOD.  They cannot be mounted to the rifle period.

NOT MINE JUST EXAMPLES
HELMET WITH PLATE

PLATE AND RHINO MOUNT

SWING ARM

whta you need:

helmet in your size
base plate
rhino mount
the pvs 7 does not need a swing arm the lug goes right into the rhino mount

a parachetest retnetion strap set and the foam impact pad help to keep the helemt from wobbling to much as well

Any other questions just email me.

The problem will be finding someone willing to sell you an IR aiming laser at a decent price.  Most I have seen are mucho dinero because they are so scarce.  But even once you get one you have to be very careful in how you use it for safety reasons.

You can use a red laser with NVGs the IR lasers are just more tactical.
