Im thinkin about getting a new 20" rifle and want something already built for the most part. CMMG offers two 20" rifles that seem almost identical, the MedCon and the Government Profile. Idk which one is better, can someone help.

I think the medcon has either a carbine or middy length gas system, but still has full length handguards. Then again I could be wrong.

I'd go with a Govt. Profile if you want an actual clone of what the "G.I." M-16 A2 rifle is. The Med Contour will be a little heavier, maybe better for target type shooting / high power rifle type matches. I went with 20" Govt. Profile on my A2 and upcoming A4 clone because I want it as close to what the troops actually use.

+1 on the gov't profile.  I have one on order myself.

The Medcon has a medium contour barrel. The gov't profile is smaller in diameter. The gov't profile is lighter, when carrying the weapon you'll notice a difference in balance.
If your going to be making an A4 clone the gov't profile would be the proper choice.
The medcon will be stiffer, and tolerate more heat, but if your not going to be using it for full-auto, or are not capable of shooting SUPER accurate groups, the medcon is a waste of weight on your weapon.

If you do decide to go with the Med Contour it will visually look the same as the Govt. Profile assuming you will have the regular A2 handguards in place.  The difference will be noticeable once you remove the handguards and see the barrel is not trimmed down like a Govt. Profile. You will notice a weight difference, I'm thinking it adds about a pound more in weight.
