I would like to have a couple of lower receiver parts kits laying around just in case something breaks on one of my rifles.  Mine are all Colts so I would need them to be the .170 trigger pin versions.  Specialized Armament has Colt brand kits for $175.  Ouch!!!  I want quality.  Is there any source other than Colt brand for the equivalent of Colt quality parts kits?

Lower parts kits are rediculous these days but if you order each and every part separately, it will still only cost about $50-$70 depending on MFR. I bought Bushmaster trigger parts piece by piece and it costs the same as a whole kit did 6 months ago. .170 trigger and hammer are expensive though.

why not just get the spare parts kit from SA for $95? has everything that you would need to keep your rifle running AFAIK. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Bushmaster sells them at a reasonable price.

What are the chances of one of the proprietary parts breaking? SHTF - I would be inclined to keep a "regular" parts kit around with a couple drill bits. Use the drill bits to drill out the holes and then cut off the shanks and use them for the pins. YMMV
