I am buying a new barrel for my Rock River from Rock River.
Do I need to check head space? How do I do it and what do I do to correct it if bad? Any links or info would be appreciated. |

Are you also replacing the bolt? For a new barrel use the go gauge and no go gauge to be safe. It should close on the go gauge and not close on the no go gauge.
The chamber is rarely too small on a new barrel and bolt combination. Most people check the head space to see how much wear there is and if there is so much wear that the chamber is no longer capable of maintaining pressure sealed inside the chamber. |
