Would anyone consider these on a fighting rifle.I like the flexibility and do not need a full rail just worried about durability. I am wanting to put it on my own SPR type close to mid range rifle. Will be using a standard front sight on a 16" midlenght Operator barrel any input would be appreciated.

Guess these handguards are not very well liked

I have them on my patrol rifle and they are lighter than the other other 4 rail systems.  I have the rifle length that covers most of the 14.5" barrel to keep me burning myself on it and it still has a good center of gravety spot.

You probally haven't gotten much response because many don't even know about them.

Once you put it on does everything stay tight and where it should

I use a rifle length VTHG on my 6.8 middy.  I like this handguard and may decide to put one on an A1 upper I have lying around if I decide to free-float the barrel down the road.  Nothing has come loose yet, but he "hardest use" this rifle will see is on the way to the tree stand in the dark.

I like the fact that I can put rails where I need them, they are a good size (low-profile), and fairly inexpensive (@ $149).

Anything produced or designed by Viking Tactics is a winner. Kyle Lamb is very knowledgable with AR's and he knows what works and what doesn't.....from real world battle experience.

I just ordered one from Viking Tactics not long ago.  Quick shipping and priced just like everywhere else.

The install is easy, just remember to let the locktite set up overnight.

If you are looking at this hand guard system as a way to save money, it is false economy unless you only run the most basic rail set up.  The additional rails cost respectable $$$ and will bring the price of this system up quickly.  However, nothing else seems as solid while offering the flexibility––which is this system's plus.

I'm running the basic tube, a section of rail for the front sight, and will at two short sections for a VFG and light mount.

Overall, it is a solid system that is low profile and flexible.
