Can anyone tell me what the ballistic difference is between the 5.56 & 7.62x39?
& Is the AR15 available in the 7.62x39? |

Yes there are variations of the AR15 available in 7.62 x 39. However owning and shooting both it would depend upon your percieved usage to maximize the usefulness to you.
The "ballistic" differences are manifold and would have to do with: Trajectory (advantage 5.56.) Caliber or stopping power (advantage 7.62 x 39) Velocity, 5.56 bullet weight, 7.62 energy, 7.62... slight edge in actual fielded barrel lengths |
