I need a tuned trigger for my AR with a 16" barrel with a mid length gas system.
This is not a precision / sniper rig. Single or 2-stage? 3, 4 or 4.5 lb. break? Please reply with suggestions and recommendations. My M14s have tuned 2-stage 4.5 lb. triggers that I like very much. My use of the search feature on this subject turned up nothing. Thanks. |

The first question you have to answer is single stage or two stage. If you like the 2 stage on your M14 then I would stick with 2 stage. I am a big fan of consistency. For two stage triggers I don't think you can beat the tuned RRA's for the price.
If you decide you want something different. I really like the JP triggers. The 4lb seems to be a good compromise is pull weight. |

I had and RRA carbine with a 2 stage trigger. It felt really nice and crisp. I've heard some stories about their triggers assemblies failing though - and given some of the things I noticed in my RRA - I'd stay away from that company unless you are looking for a plinker.
I sold mine and got an LMT 16" CQB MRP and the difference is night and day. To be fair, my RRA was as accurate as I shot it, and the trigger never gave me any problems. |
| I just installed a Geissele DMR in my S&W 15A. Amazing trigger that you can easily tune both stages to your liking. Makes shooting the rifle a real pleasure compared to the gritty single stage contraption I removed. The Geissle is expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. |
