what spring provides the pressure that pushes the empty mag out of the AR? it looks to me that the mag spring itself is what "pushes" the empty mag out. the bolt catch spring doesn't really provide the push to drop the mag right? I am having a little trouble with a Cav MKII ejecting NHMTG mags. I have trimmed the spring as suggested. Other brand mags eject okay.

Gravity. and the mag spring to a degree. pressure on the bolt catch makes the mag "pop" out of the lower assuming everything else in in spec. isn't the bolt catch static while it is holding the bolt? i don't see that it moves at all with the bolt behind it. i am just trying to make sure that trimming the bc spring didn't have an effect on ejecting mag. |

All my NHMTGs (and everything else I've tried) drop fine *Ameetec & GTS lowers*
I think the pop comes from follower/spring pressure against the bolt catch. The bc is not forcing the mag downward. The mag spring is releasing compression. A good mag with no guts in it will simply drop out under its own weight. |
