| OK - my friends getting a 16.1 Recon all tricked out. He ordered it last Friday but he had a question regarding, of all things, the dust cover. If you go to noveskerifleworks.com and look under 5.56 parts the dust cover is laser engraved with the following "SURPRISE COCK FAGS". I mean WTF??? Why does this belong on a premium rifle? |

Ummm, because it's freaking funny that's why. Your not picking out a bottle of wine to sit in your seller or a Norman Rockwell painting to make the ladies go "Ohhhhhh". It's a battle rifle, it stops Jihad on contact and when you make guns as good as John Noveske, quite frankley, you can put just about anything you want on it. The difference is in the final machining and finishing. You can take equal quality blanks and have two different companies finish them up and get completely different results. |

noveske is better than most. Now that's funny...since I have spent six years as a member of a full-time TRT and am now a full time insturctor of said team...uh...I certainly must not know much to be trusted to protect civilians and vital infastructor... Trust me, I have seen hundreds of thousands of rounds go down range...I know what brands work after extreme use and which ones don't. Noveske is a nice rifle...I own one, but it is no better than my Colt 6920s or the the Colts issued at work....

The Noveske uppers do NOT come with that installed. I know I have 3 of them.
It is a stand alone part you can buy and install on your own. Flavor of the month? I guess I have had that flavor stuck in my mouth circa 2005. Those who shoot for accuracy see it in Noveske's, MSTN built guns, LaRue's and yes, there is a difference between how its finished. Belmont hit the nail on the head. Is common sense that rare these days. A phone call will answer your question but again common sense is even easier. That said, I bet there is a AWESOME story behind why those dust covers came about... |

You didn't say a Noveske is the same as the "top four makers". You said a Noveske is "no better no worse" than everyone else. Everyone else includes more than just the top four manufacturers. Is a Porsche the same as a VW? No. Noveske charges more for his products because he can, and they are worth it. If his rifles were overpriced, there wouldn't be a wait time to get one. |
