I though I would ask the advice of the AR community. I have been considering the DPMS SASS .308 but was told by my local dealer that these are basically unavailable, wait time 6 - 12 months. I inquired about the Mark12 and was told the same thing, essentially I was told all AR's are back ordered because of the elections. I've bought several gun's from this dealer but was surprised by their answer regarding the AR availability. I sent an e-mail directly to DPMS but received no response. Maybe DPMS doesn't want to confirm what my dealer told me? Thanks to the AR community, great information. |

Yes the SASS has a long wait if you order today from DPMS. I bought mine off Gun Broker. No reason to wait as few dealer will discount them. The .308 SASS is a great gun and a pretty good value considering all that is included. As far as ARs in general, meaning 5.56, ones they are plentifully. Yes some models might be backorded but just buy a lower and get a kit with the options you want. |

I did the same as MARSH1, I could have saved $150 going through my dealer, but the wait was 6-8 months at the time. I found one on gunsamerica for slightly less than gunbroker. Just make sure when you are buying that the model has the Magpul stock if that matters to you. I found several for $1700 ish, but they had the older style VLTOR stock. Here's mine w/ a leupold mk4 http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a63/paochow/Firearms/IMG_4857.jpg |
