When I insert a mag on my Army M4 it requires very little resistance to click in. On my AR, i have to slap it kinda hard to get it to seat into the mag catch.
Why is this?
Is it because my M4 is more worn or has less tolerances?
Is there something I can do to reduce the pressure needed to engage the mag catch?

They are the exact same mags, so I have ruled that out, I have even adjusted the release with no avail.
empty mags are fine, but loaded mags even with 5rds create a problem.
I'm sure its the rds hitting the BCG, and I am fighting the spring in the mag.
Any Ideas?

your issued rifle is worn in and loose

h/w, you can adjust the mag catch on yours...but as long as it click in and locks a mag, i wouldnt worry about it

oh, a fully loaded mag when inserted in a closed BCG will make insertion/locking tougher--"slap and tug"

Does it do this when the bolt is locked back to the rear also?
