What is your specific question on sighting in? It's a pretty basic procedure.

Get a base line zero at 25m/yds
That should get you on the money at 300 or so. This is how the military does it.
How far do you intend on shooting?
What kind of optics? or just irons?
Stick with the same ammo grain, or your groups will fly all over the place

The big thing is checking the groups and using a reliable rest, to take out as much 'human factor' as possible or you'll end up chasing zero all over the place.

Use large aperture to sight in at 50 yards.  This gives the flattest trajectory out to 200 yards.  The Army way is a little f-ed up if you are trying to stay as close to point of aim/point of impact.

I never use the large low-light aperture, its friggin huge.  Should I use that for anything?  It looks like COD4 with the entire upper half of the FSB visible.

Win

Improved Battlesight Zero- Lets you use the small and large aperture for close range, and the elevations on the wheel still work

No.

25y is a poor way to zero, 50 is a much better option with the AR-15.  50y is a much flatter trajectory.

Just zeroed my Armailte Flat Top with Carry Handle......

Started at 40m to get on the paper....

Moved to 100m to finish off.....

It really depends upon how you will use the gun and at what range you will be shooting.  100m is plenty good to sight in......You start at a close range (25 yds is good) so you don't waste ammo.  Then you move out accordingly.

Good Luck!
