Has anyone here had experience with the Beta C Mag?  I'm curious to know reliability and durability.

Also, what about the 10 round speed loader?  Does it function well?

I am considering buying one but I don't want to make a $250.00 mistake.

Thanks in advance

I had one, it was just OK.  Never had any reliability issues from it.  I view it more as a novelty item than anything.  I sold it and bought a crap load of USGI's and Pmags.  I wouldn't waste my money on it again.

I've never owned one, but all I can say is if you could buy 18-20 thirty-round mags for the same cost, I would do that.

I've used mine about 10 times with no issues with my semi only.

The 10 round loader is if you already have your ammo on stripper clips, the 5 round loader is for loose ammo.

I don't low crawl through sand so my c-mag works great at the range.

I have one in 9mm and one in 556.  Never had any issues with them.  Great for laying down lots of rounds with no mag change.  If you own a full auto, it is a must IMO.

Friend of mine got a Beta and I think I've seen him use it 1 time over the past few years.  He does use the loader all the time though as it works on regular mags too, just have to put your ammo on stripper clips.

I have one, it is realy more of a novelty.  It is heavy when loaded and kind of awkward.  They look very cool though, so the poser factor is high.  Mine has been 100% reliable but the worst it sees is maybe a stage at a 3 gun match.

I bought the "Ninetyrounder", AKA: snail drum, from MGW. It works pretty well. I bought a second but haven't used it yet. shop around, they're had for $100~ It's a cheap option if all you want is a range toy.

I have one and want another. I love 'em! In a firefight you have the advantage. When others are reloading, you aint! I havent had any problems with mine. They are high but worth the price. They were going for over $500 when slick willie was in office.

Multiple 30 rounders would be better unless it is just a conversation piece.

If you want one, buy it. I remember when they were selling for $600 during the AWB.

Could turn out to be a worthwhile investment should new legistlature ever happen

I think they suck.  I have several that have fallen apart.  I have 2 in .223 that the innards spilled out, and another in 9mm that the innards spilled out.  You can get 10-15 loadings with them, then they go tits up.  Unreliable in my opinion.  I can't count how many times I've see people at subgun matches be left high and dry when the Beta Mag fails.  I wouldn't trust my life to one that is for damn sure.

Just don't hit the mag release while you have ammo in it without having some forethought as to how your gonna catch the beta mag before it hits the ground and breaks...

I have 2 in Iraq, one feeds flawless on full, the other has a couple of misfeeds.  Too heavy to lug around in  my opinion.  I do keep them in the truck for the just in case situations.  I need to figure out how to get them home now.
