I tried searching and found nothing on bipods.  I will be picking up an Ar15 flat top at the next gunshow (about a week away).  I intend on building it up as a long range "sniper" rifle.  I have a couple of questions for those that are in the know.  Which bipods are quality made and reliable?  What length should I look for?  I have seen the Harris bipods in variable length but there are 2 different ranges of minimum and maximum height.  I don't know which height range fits the AR best.

Thanks

Harris is what i have on everything that needs a bipod. as for the length it depends what you are doing with it. if it is a "sniper" bench gun than

i think they make a 9-13 inch that would work. i like the 13-27 inch the best. good for bench "sniping" paper to sitting against a tree hunting. it is

a little heavier though.

I have a 9-13" Harris, I wish it was a 6-9" instead. For me the 6-9" would work better off the bench or prone. Another member suggested resting you rifle on stacks of books to decide which height would work best for you. this is a great idea. The Harris is a great light weight solid bipod, I will be buying another. This is a 9-13" on the lowest setting.

I have a Harris that is 9-13. for me its a great height for prone and seated.
I like the swivel model, just wish it had notched legs, not smoothe.

I personally love a BOBRO gen-2.

It is not cheap at 175.00 but you do not need to buy a rail adapter like with
a harris.

Top quality and machine work outstanding.

Thanks for the input.  I'll have to try the book idea.  This will be a bench/prone gun, no hunting.  I have a shotgun and an AK for short range fun....but something about being able to put a bullet within 1inch of where your aiming from 100+ meters is impressive.
