I think the intent of your question was lost. An M16 is a specific configuration of AR-15 that is purchased by the US government. An M15 is a copy of an AR-15 that is made for commercial markets. It is intended to be identical to the Colt product, but they can't call it an AR-15 because that term is copyrighted, so they gave it the name M15. So, no matter what you were asking, the answer is that there is no difference between whatever you are asking about and the AR-15. |

AR-15 = colt M-15 = Armalite same rifle different companies. Armalite made the first and went out of buisness, colt got the rights and named it ar-15 (armalite rifle - 15) the armalite name was bought by another company(eagle arms?) and couldnt use "ar-15" because colt had rights so they named it "M-15". both are semi auto. Other names: Bushmaster = xm-15 stag = model 1 you get the point. The main thing is dont call it an m16 or m4(unless you get an auto sear) and it takes mags not clips or you'll get flamed by the "specific-names-matter-whores" even though they know what you mean Welcome Fields |
