Looking to purchase a new LE6920.

Am I looking at a very long wait due to backorder? I'm in no hurry.

Should I just order the Stag 2T?

Make sure you can legally possess a Colt 6920 in your state before ordering or bidding, but here's one:

Wish I'd seen it last week.

To the best of my knowledge that is an accurate statement.  You need to chase down a pre ban lower to put a 6920 upper on.

Yes, If someone could confirm I'd appreciate it?

Considering it's my first AR purchase I need some help here.

Thank you

Do some homework to confirm it yourself. There are several things on the 6920 that you are not allowed to have. Check out the "Hometown" forum for New York. As was stated you could buy a pre-ban lower and put the 6920 upper on it.

You can not buy a complete new rifle...

To own that in New York State, as someone said earlier, you will have to find and purchase a pre-ban lower...

Ok after reading bits of the NYS AWB law I'm totally confused.

Lot's of AR's here on Long Island and lot's with adjustable stocks and pistol grips. So if I'm correct here you can't have both on the same firearm.

Ok I'm stupid, what am I missing here.

What manufacturer/model is legal in NYS?

Thanks and excuse my ignorance.

If you have a preban lower, you can have all the "evil" features.  You will need to get on gunbroker, or the EE and find a preban lower, then you can purchase the 6920 upper and you will be GTG.

Are you crazy ...I will trade you a mossberg pump for a 6920...

I think you can get a preban lower for around $500.  Maybe not a COLT, but there are other brands out there...

If I were you in NY, I wouldn't touch an AR15 with a ten foot pole until I nailed the laws and customs down to withstand a Cat 6 hurricane.

Yes, in NYS you can have a "6920-ish" carbine, but it'll cost you a couple or few hundred more, and you'll have to put it together yourself. I lucked out and found this 6920 upper already mated to this preban Colt lower a few years ago on the equipment exchange of this board.

FAIL.

You can buy a brand new, "Ban Compliant" AR15 and have it transferred to you just like in any other state. The caveat is that you can only have 2 "Evil" Features. Most folks opt for their evil features to be the Pistol Grip and the ability to accept a detachable magazine, thus meaning you cannot have a "moveable" telestock (it can be pinned into one position permanently though), a Flash Hider or threaded barrel (you can have a permanently attached muzzle brake or compensator, no FH), no bayo lug.

OP, check out the NY Hometown Forum here on arfcom. Arfcom is based out of Western NY and alot of NY AR shooters gather there to discuss local issues/get together shooting events.
Drop in and say hello to your fellow NY arfcom members

Yes.

A preban Lower, pre 1994 manufacturer serial number, lower did not need to be assembled btw, and with a preban lower you can have all the "evil" features that you want.

The exception is NY State LEO's, which can skate by the NY AWB. However that is risky business as their is a gray area as to what happens to the legal status of your LEO credentials being used to obtain for personal use an "Assault Weapon" (per the NY Penal Code definition of an Assault Weapon) if you are suspended from your job. If a NY LEO is fired from his LEO job, he is fooked for having an AWB and is comitting a Class D Felony the instant he is no longer an active duty LEO.
