I've already got a couple Bushmasters but want one with the new gas piston.

I see one now on Gunbroker for 380 bucks and was wondering if anyone here

has replace their upper with one ??

How hard is it to install...and wouldn't this be the way to go instead of buying the

entire rifle at 15 or 16 hundred bucks ???    thanks

  Thanks...that was a nice review.

I may try it some day....but I agree with what one guy wrote....I could spend

  the 400 bucks on optics.

I just hope the ACR finds its way to the public...we'll see...

    thanks for the thread.....

Check out the brand new Addax GPU's we are building.

We utilize the PWS Gas Piston System in our brand new Gas Piston Uppers, as well as quality components like barrels from CMMG, White Oak, Lothar-Walther, and Sabre Defense (available in approx. 30 days).

Let us know if you have any questions.

We are a Premiere builder of new Gas Piston Uppers and we also perform retrofits if you already own an AR15 Upper.

Thanks,

Hey Trinydex,

Ok, here are some pics of our Side Charging handle Gas Piston Upper we are currently working on.

The Side Charging Handle upper receiver is from ASA and so far in our testing, we have been really pleased with it.

Just took my 14.5 inch, pinned, lightweight carbine out today with its new Ares piston installed.

The install went great - no problems at all.  The fit and finish are great, all the parts went together perfectly.

I am running this piston setup with an H3 buffer.  I started with an H2, but it was going so well I popped an H3 in to see how it worked out.

This kit is the most fun I've had with my rifle in a long, long time!  NO malfunctions of any kind.  No noticeable effect on accuracy (this is my plinking fun gun - if it will shoot to minute-of-beanie-baby I'm happy).  Best of all recoil is incredibly mild, followup shots are quick and easy, brass lands within a 2 foot circle about 6 - 8 feet from the shooter (I also installed a stronger ejector spring and an O ring at the same time I put the piston kit in).

After dumping a whole 30 round magazine, I brought my shooting buddies over to feel the receiver - still nice and cool - and to touch the bolt carrier - also cool.

Did I need this kit?  NO, my carbine shot fine without it.  Did I want this kit?  YES, I like to tinker with my guns.  Do I regret buying this kit?  NO WAY!  Like I said, I had a whole new kind of fun with my rifle today!
