[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Magazine ID?

Just acquired a few 20 round Colt mags. Most seem to be Army mags with 5.56 designation. All of them have a UI on the body except of one. The odd one is marked.223 on the floorplate. I got the info from the magazine link that said they were mostly post '69 but no mention about the UI. Any input? Thanks

UI = Universal Industries

or if you turn the UI on its side it is CH......Colt Hartford

Your magazines are proper. The 223 marked ones are early Air Force contract mags and don't have the UI marking.

Thanks for the info. Being that they were USGI, I would assume that they are decent? I hope so and did get them at a pretty fair price...

Those are great mags; all I use are USGI 20 rounders. They generally sell for $15-$20 each.
