I'm not going to even attempt to say whether or not that would work, as talking about that kind of stuff on a public forum isn't a great idea. Tell your friend it is a felony and you can go to jail for that. Look up what happened to a guy in Berlin WI who had an AR that may have gone full auto. |

That could result in more than one shot per trigger pull, but it wouldn't be a very good or reliable way to do it. It is definitely illegal to try to do that. If you're going to commit that type of serious felony, at least do a proper conversion.  Give him the number of the local ATF office and dare him to call them and inquire about it. To be clear, I am not advocating anything illegal, I made that comment in jest. I highly recommend not doing any sort of illegal conversion. The ATF doesn't mess around. I do not violate any gun laws. |
| I know he's not really into listiening to me. I told him to look at a M16 trigger group. It's different. I'm not sure exactly how different but I said if it was reliable and safe to make it a Full Auto that way, alot of others would be doing it even thought it's illegal. I'll do my best to talk him out of it but I'm not his boss I guess. I'll hope for the best. |

It would allow the hammer to follow the bolt and carrier, and very well could cause the fireing of more then one round with each pull of the trigger. That being said, its dangerous, may cause the rifle to fire out of battery, and is incredibly fucking stupid to do insofar as legal matters. Try and talk the guy out of it. He may be a fucking retard, but we have an obligation to help fellow gunners. Especially since every time nitwits like him get nabbed, it makes ALL of us look bad and anything you can do to prevent one more lamebrain from making us all look bad, is a good thing. |

I'm guessing you aren't old enough to remember the news reports in the early 90's about people doing illegal auto conversions? If he wants a class 3 weapon tell him to get the right license thats the advice id give.The law alows for this legaly so theres no need to go around it.Tell him to get the right license and start saving $12000 for a real transferable M16.If he can leagally own a firearm then he shouldnt have a problem unless your stae has some restrictions. Its not worth 25 years in prison for an illegal unlicensed machine gun of his own modifications.Hes stupid for doing it and you certainly didnt think before posting it in a public forum.Tell him to smarten up and follow the law...hence a law abiding citizen.If all else fails throw your friend a beating before he goes and does something that effects all non retarded gun owners..your friend needs a slap to wake him up. |
