Does anyone here have any experience with this load and conversion?  If so, what do you think?

Saw something from Cardinal Armory about it.

Read the tacked threads in the AR Variants forum. If you do decide to build or buy a 6.8 upper, make sure you go with the right chamber and twist if you plan on running combat loads or hot hand loads. Cardinal Armory makes a very good barrel.

Cardinal Arms (formerly KoTonics) has nice fit & finish on their barrels.  Plenty of metal around the bore.  Mid-length gas port for reliability.  1:11 inch twists may be better than the 1:10 for hot load.  Havent chronographed the MV with a 16" barrel, but is supposed to be on par with the 18".  You will be happy with any Cardinal Arms barrel.  Another upside is that it's a lot lighter than my PTR-91 or Garandthought about being.

You can get brass, reloading dies, bullets & accessories through Midway USA.

Loading data for the 6.8 SPC can be found easily enough by just doing a web search.  Some mainstream ammo manufacturers are publishing data as well.  With Ruger producing a Mini-14 in 6.8 SPC, I bet you it will be here to stay around.
