Hello I am new to the form but I just purchased a used dpms upper and lower. I know its not the best name but it was a good deal. Now I am looking to make it mine by changing things around on it. The other thing that was brought up was that any length below 16 inches is illegal. But I would like to go about 14 inches on a new  upper. Any ideas?

Less than 16" you either have to pay the ATF tax or get an extended FH. DPMS aren't all that bad. Congrats on the new gun.

atf tax or extended fh confused sorry guess i know less then i thought. and your right i love my dpms shoots great just want it to be lighter and more tactical

You can either go the SBR route and then you can have a barrel shorter than 16" or you can go with a 14.5" barrel and have an extended flash hider permanently attached.
