Stag or RRA are others to consider. Check with Pete from Legal Transfers, sponsor here, usually has RRA uppers for under 450.

CMMG out of that particular group but you'll be hard pressed to find one for less than $450. Your intended use & expectations/standards are something to consider as well. They all work but what do YOU want?

While I think BCM gives you a lot of rifle for the money, if you wanted to go slightly cheaper I'd recommend an complete CMMG 16" upper from AIM Surplus. $500 is a little more than stag/rra, but it gets you a better overall product.

Seeing as you're from NC, I'll vote for Del-ton. Support your local economy! They do offer a good deal on uppers though. They always come to the Raleigh shows with a ton of assembled ones to choose from.

By price, Del-ton with an upgraded chrome lined barrel, Stag and Bushy come with them already, then an upgraded RRA upper, if you can find one.

Del-Ton is not the "best value", but is simply the "cheapest".

CMMG wins the best value award by far, with $279 barrels with 1/7 twist, chrome lining, M4 feed ramps, and they claim to use 4150/CMV steel.

However, the BCM is also of great value if you can still find them... BCM sells out quick!

Personally, BCM is always sold out...so I'd get the stag from BCM, 16" M4 upper with BCG and with a MI flip sight is like $525!

any one who can't see the BCM as the runaway best value in a upper ,is not educated on the subject enough to deserve one . IMHO if your in the market for an M4 upper and don't get the BCM you are missing the boat . the BCM is an incredable value and anyone with the cash should buy it asap.
