I currently have a Bushmaster M4A3 and am thinking about selling it...I've been wanting to get a flat top but not sure what brand to get...I've thought about a S&W M&P or RRA...or maybe a DPMS...my question is...is DPMS worth the money? I've read mixed views on them so I really don't know how well they are made or hold up. It will mostly be a casual shooter but I want to be able to depend on it if the zombies attack too...or a real SHTF situation. I have $2,100 cash and what ever I will get for the Bushy if I sell it. But the dilemma is that I don't really know if I want to sell the Bushy as I really like it the way it is...so I'm tossing around the idea of just getting another rifle...but really have no idea what I want to get if I keep the bushy. If I do sell the bushy and get another AR-15 I would like to also maybe get another rifle of some type...so any thoughts on my dilemma? What ever I decide to get whether it be an AR-15 and another rifle...or just an AR...and some goodies for it...I want them to both be all around general use like long distance, shots, room clearing etc. Decissions decissions.

ETA. If you make any recommenditions please state why you believe in that weapon or a paticular setup

Hmmmmm keep the Bushmaster and get a flatop upper?

Either way stay with Bushmaster..  I have been using a Bushmaster carbine that I built as I decided what I like for a few years.  I also have a Bushmaster Dissipator that absolutely rocks and is completely reliable.

+1,  just get a stripped upper, or a whole new one so you can swap em out.

Hmmm...now that's sound advice...from you and charger22...so I suppose all of the parts from the bushy will interchange with whatever brand upper I get? Will there be and difference with wear on the parts from the bushy i.e. like fitting a little losely in a new upper?

ETA. Plus if I did that I would have quit a bit of money left over for other goodies or another rifle.

Here is my thoughts on my two ARs.
The one on the left is my S&WM&P15T with 1913 rail. one on the right is my LM&T Defender 2000 it has a flat top 1913 rail section.
I really like the simple basic LM&T system both shoot great both are quality ARs
IMHO keeping things simple is the best road to follow.

Don't drink the KoolAid

Stick with the Bushmaster.  You can order the upper parts from directly from them.
