Another what is it worth ha ha ha. This was my first ar before i started really getting into them. Ran bout 800 rounds threw it. Shoots great its all stock, should i mod it,sell it (and get something diff) or hold on to it as it may be a good investment.
If i decide to mod it i would like to go the spr route possibly just kicking ideas around.

It is worth more as an MT6601 than it is in any other configuration.  It should sell for around $1,000.00 pretty easily especially if preban.  I have seen them go for $700 though, Not the most popular model for some reason.  I have one that is souped up to DCM/CMP NM standards myself so I am not the best voice for keeping it original.

Isn't the MT6601 the post ban version? Or did they start making it before the ban.

There was the R6601 that was made just before the ban.

So i guess its not all that good and i should just sell the upper and build what i want or just trade off the whole rifle.

Not to hijack but will answer questions directed to me.

1.  That is correct MT are post ban 1997 ish to 2000 something.

2.  I put 1/4 x 1/4 min WOA pinned sights, WOA improved RRA 2-stage NM trigger, and a RRA freefloat tube on it.  Brought it up to the NM guns made by RRA, Bushmaster, and DPMS; same type parts but most of mine were pretty high quality.

I also have a MT6601 Match Target HBAR, other Colt models like the pre ban and LE will have better investment value than post ban models in my opinion, but the MT HBAR is not bad the only thing I don't prefer about it is the barrel because it's not chrome lined (but the chamber is chrome lined).

If you would like to use it go ahead and mod it either change to a better barrel assembly and get a SPR upper for it and maybe also a better trigger for it.

If that's too much either just upgrade the barrel or just get a SPR upper and sell your old upper to fund the new upper.
