Hey guys, new to the board here -- new to ARs and rifles in general too, heh.
Just got out of BCT with the Army a couple weeks ago and I decided to buy myself a rifle to keep up and improve on my shooting. Went to the local gun store and decided to build one instead, and below was the outcome:

Unfortunately the Aimpoints not mine though hinking.gif
Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with my purchase HogueCAA vert. grip
A couple PMAGs

I haven't been able to go out an zero it yet though, hah. Was supposed to go out today, but I woke up and it was pouring outside -- guess it'll have to wait till tomorrow..

I decided to go with a non-match trigger so that I wouldn't get into the habit of using them when the rifles I'll be using down range won't have them...good idea?

Any preliminary/quick advice you guys could give to a rookie? Anything would be appreciated. I've been tossing around the idea of taking classes of some sort.. Any ideas?

Welcome.

I think the Aimpoint mount is too low for co-witness?

Yeah, the Aimpoint's my friends that he left at my house. It is just a tad bit though. The next thing on my list is an EOTech, so no worries

You might want to visit the Optics Forum before you get carried away with that Eotech purchase.

Not saying which is better, just saying a totally informed decision is always good...
