From my understanding the wylde chamber improves accuracy, but also accommodates both .223 and 5.56. Well whats the down side then?

The downside is that most factory Wylde chambers are more or less a bit loose .223 chambers. Ned Christiansen has an excellent article in this issue of SWAT on how a true 5.56 doesn't hurt practical accuracy while providing reliability.

Zero problems with the Wylde chambers that I own.

I've heard that the throat in the Wylde chamber is cut deeper than that of a .223 or 5.56. Has anyone here measured the freebore in a Wylde chambered barrel?
