I have a CMMG with a Mil Spec stock. I have a BM with a commercial stock.
Should I be able to switch the stocks without switching the buffer tubes?

Not if one extension is commercial and one mil-spec..the commercial stock will fit a mil-spec extension with a rattle but the mi-spec stock wont fit a commercial tube.

I have a Mil Spec tube and stock, but the rattle is ridiculous. Anything I can do to tighten it up, or do I need to buy a new stock?

Heat it with a hair dyer.

the commercial tube is larger.You cound try your mil-spec stock on the commercial tube.If it actually fits,it shouldn't rattle anymore.
