My dad gave me a 20" Colt Hbar upper a few weeks ago.  I traded my Mini 14 to get the lower (a Bushmaster) Stopped by the fun shop today and there is a Colt lower marked Hbar Match and has the A2 stock.  This is my typical luck and now I'm wondering if I should see if he would be interested in making the lower swap the value he "charged" me was very close to the price of the Colt lower.  I would love to be able to just pick up the lower and have the start to my second (with my current Bushmaster lower) but the budget wont allow it.  My second question is the lower has a peice that says Colt near the rear pin and it looks like it is pinned above the saftey. What is this? What should I do my heart is telling me the Colt upper deserves a Colt lower.

That is the lower shelf block to discourage trying to convert the rifle to take FA components.I would keep the Bushy the Colt does have slightly larger than standard fire control pins and parts.Newer Colts are just not machined through in that area in lieu of the block. With the block you cant use an M16 carrier but a semi full circle would be ok.Keep the Bushy.

If your on a budget look into Essntial arms lowers..$86..its a good forged lower and your not paying extra for a roll mark.

I agree with AlphaGhost. If you get rid of the Bushmaster lower you will regret it.
