So I've already pulled the trigger on this, but I purchased a 2nd lower at the same time so I thought I would ask for further advisements on the second build.

Objective:  I am brand spanking new to AR's so I was looking to build something of decent quality but definitely not top notch.  I've made enough mistakes over buying at the outset only to find out later on I was buying out of fear instead of buying to match my needs.  Top notch quality simply isn't always needed, at least not in my opinion.  I'll be using the rifle at the range mostly, for calling coyotes possibly and for teaching my wife to shoot.  I'm not buying the ultimate SHTF weapon.  Maybe I'll want to do that later, maybe not.  I just want a good working shooter.

What I ended up with (well, it's on it's way anyways):
Spikes lower (ARFCOM deal)
Standard M4 collapsible 6 position stock
Standard LPK Spikes sells (no idea what brand)
CMMG 16" complete upper (middy)
30 round Magpul magazine
UTG rear sight
Total cost including shipping (not FFL transfer fee): $791.27 (not including the extra $100 I spent for the second lower = 1 FFL fee for both as well as +$1 s/h)

Now, I know the CMMG is is only batch tested for MPI.  I know they have soft FSB pins and I've seen occaisonal reports of manf problems.  However, the overwhelming # of posts from people who have them are supportive.  They seem to be rough and tumble not to mention accurate, especially for the price.  Also, they are about $115 less than a BCM or LMT - a sizeable difference for a non-operator/LEO.  Next time I may upgrade, but I'm just getting my toes wet now and I didn't see a much better option.  Please let me know if I overlooked an upper I shouldn't have.

The UTG sights, well, everybody seems to hate UTG, but for $30 and what seems to be a decent GC&G knock-off, how can I go wrong?  I don't know what I want for optics right now so this makes me shootable plus becomes a loaner/backup once I put optics on.  Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, but tell me if you think I'm wrong.
