I have a new Wilson Combat SS upper and a stripped Wilson lower.  I am going to install a Magpull PRS stock and cant decide on what trigger.  I know I want a quality 2 stage trigger with #3-#3.5 pull, but don't have much expierience to know what to get.  I had planned on one of the McCormick drop in's, but have now found out that they are discontinued.  What other drop in's are out there for someone with very little gunsmithing skill?

Try Geissele. Pronounced " Guys-lee" They are expensive, but probably the best. You could have Bill Springfield do an job on your stock trigger. It's very inexpensive and you would be more then happy with the results.

You don't need gunsmithing skills to install a trigger. Look at the Geissele Hi-Speed.

The Geissele High Speed is the best, but it's $279 anywhere you go (oddly, $279.95 at Brownells). It is a two stage adjustable trigger. Much cheaper and still great is the Geissele SSA at $145; but there's a several month wait time to get it from ADCO. It is a two stage non-adjustable.

If you can't wait, in the same price range as the Geissele SSA is the LMT non-adjustable two stage which is a nice trigger.

Since you were considering the McCormick a single stage may be more to your liking. The best feeling (crispy) I've used is the Timney, but I have had some trouble with them. While not quite as taut as the Timneys, the Jard non-adjustable single stage triggers I've used are a huge improvement over the stock trigger and I've put many thousands of rounds on them with zero problems.

You can get your single stage worked for a very reasonable price, or if 2 stage is for you then an Armalite is a very nice trigger without breaking the bank account.

I really like my Rock River two-stage trigger.

Its marketed as a 4.5# to 5.0# pull-weight.

Most of the weight is on the first stage, and the second stage breaks crisply, and without any overtravel to speak of. Nothing to "go out of adjustment" either.

White Oak Armament RRA 2 stage 3.5# trigger tuned by John Holliger. IMO its the best bang for your buck.

Im pretty sure Im going to go with a RRA NM 2 stage.  If I send that off to Bill Springfield to be worked he would smooth out and typcially lower the pull down - right?  For a longer range paper puncher and varmiter what pull weigth should I get?  It sounds as if I want one around 3# - do you agree?

I'm sorry it's not a drop-in but What about the Jewel 2-stage.  I think there around $200 on sale? I think they go down to 2lbs???
JP also sells a drop in unit but I don't think it's a 2-stage.
I've had problems getting use to the timney drop-in.  Can't seem to double tap with it due to the very short and light reset.
