Is it possible that a Colt lower marked AR15 A2 came from the factory with an A1 upper. I've been offered an as new condition A2 that is marked as such and it has an A1 upper. They both match perfectly with a nice Colt grey. I don't want to buy a frankin gun if this option was not availiable as a complete rifle. TIA.

sure they did. mine is the R6400 made in 1984 has slickside upper and A1 sights, has A2 furniture and A2 profile 1/7 barrel
