Hello All,

Picking up my first AR tonight. A Colt Competition Match HBAR.

Not too savvy in the AR. Just picking up stuff from the forums I read. Any books or DVDs recommended to learn more about the basics? You know...  the A2, A3 etc basics, cleaning, maintanence, schematics, spare part to have etc?

Thanks

Read the -10 (Operator's Manual) as it's a good start on the basics (like cleaning and lubrication as well as part nomenclatures).

Two of the really best books any AR owner or builder should have are The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide by Walt Kuleck with Clint McKee ISBN 1-888722-12-6 and The AR-15 Complete Owners Guide by Walt Kuleck with Scott Duff. ISBN 1-888722-10X

Both are around $20US each at local gunshows.

With these two books your ready for anything with your new AR.
